SISTERS OF THE LITTLE FLOWER OF BETHANY

The Congregation of the Bethany Sisters, founded by Bishop Raymond Francis Camillus Mascarenhas in Mangalore on 16.7.1921, arrived in Ranchi on 3.7.1985 and started their mission at Mahuatoli and later shifted to McMandro in 1987.  The parish School was handed over to them on July 7, 1987.  With the dedicated service and hard labour of the Sisters the Bethany Convent School began to shine out drawing ever-greater number of students.  As a reswult the hostile situation created by anti-social elements was turned into a spirit of friendship and cooperation.  Besides the School the Sisters took up non-formal vocational education, health care and family apostolate thereby winning the hearts of the people.  Much progress at McMandro is attributed to the selfless and dedicated services of these Sisters.  Today Bethany Sisters have their own formation house in Ranchi to foster vocations from Chotanagpur.
