KURKURIA

The Good Samaritan Hospital is the most appreciated gift of 'I Fratelli Dimenticati' founded by Don alessi in Italy, to the people of Kurkuria and to the Archdiocese of Ranchi.  The Kurkuria Project was materialized with the inspiration of His Grace Telesphore P. Toppo and the founder, Don Alessi.  The foundation also supports 'Nav Jeevan Awas Nagar' leprosy rehabilitation project in the same campus.  The project was implemented and blessed in the presence of the Archbishop and large number of beneficiaries by the representative of the Foundation, Fr. Luciano Aloiso on January 23, 1995.  A priest was appointed at Kurkuria to meet the pastoral needs of the staff and inmates of the hospital.  Similarly, the Medical Sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis of Assisi came to look after the hospital with their dedicated and selfless medical services on June 13, 1994.  Since then onwards the deserted Kurkuria land is being nourished and developed much to shelter the needy brothers and sisters of the Lord.
