Annual Meet of Ranchi Archdiocesan Mahila Sangh

Ranchi Archdiocesan Mahila Sangh annual meet was held on 15th and 16th March 2003 at Mandar Parish.  The participation of the women from Ranchi and Mandar vicariates was very satisfactory.  Rev. Fr. Patrick Kindo the assistant Parish Priest of Mandar hoisted the papal flag and inaugurated the annual meet.  In the evening there was Marian procession and cultural programme based on the basic role of mothers in the society.

Next day started with solemn Eucharistic celebration officiated by the Archbishop.  The lamp was lighted by the chief guest Sr. Emma the Spiritual Adviser introduced the new Executive members, (President - Mrs. Bernadette Dungdung, Vice President - Mrs. Cecilia Lakra, Secretary - Mrs. Manjula Romola Horo, Joint Secretary - Mrs. Domnica Tirkey and Mrs. Clara Kujur, Treasurer - Mrs. Pushpa Toppo, Advisers Mrs. Anasthacia Lakra and Miss Sibil Kandulna).  They took the oath in front of the Archbishop and of the assembly.

Fr. C.R. Prabhu, the Rector of St. Albert's College spoke on the topic "Role of the Mothers, Family and the Church in the New State of Jharkhand".  Mrs. Bernadette Dungdung the President gave thrust on the role of mothers for the economic and social upliftment of the society.  Mr. Bandhu Tirkey, the Executive President of Janadhikar Manch; Fr. Cherubim Tirkey, the Secretary of Jharkhand Bishops; Fr. Anthony Bruno Xalxo, the Spiritual Director of Mahila Sangh, Fr. Barnabas Minj the Parish Priest of Mandar, Fr. Patrick Kindo, Fr. Polycarp Kerketta, Fr. Vincent Minj, Sr. Leocrita D.S.A., Mother Rose, Catholic Sabha representative Mr. Gyanprakash Kujur and Mr. John Xalxo were present and shared their opinions on the various roles of mothers to play in the society at large.

Mrs. Romola and Mrs. Bernadette conducted the programme successfully.  Mrs. Fabiola Tirkey gave the vote of thanks.  And with great hope and expectation the annual meeting of Mahila Sangh was concluded.
