SALESIANS

The Congregation commonly known as the Salesians of Don Bosco was founded in Turin, Italy by St. John Bosco on January 18, 1869.  The Constitutions received Papal approval on April 4, 1874.  The principal apostolate of the Society is the education of youth and missions.  Accordingly the congregation runs youth centres, provides boardings and hostels, organizes technical schools, and besides press and publications take up parish missions.
